#BeWoW – Dream, Enjoy, Inspire

This week’s #BeWow edition is a little assortment of inspiring quotes! Finding such things on Pinterest (along with cats, books and geeky goodness) has become a hobby!

#BeWow (Be Wonderful on Wednesday) was started by Ronovan Writes and the concept is to share positivity across the blogosphere. It is a weekly feature on my blog and hope many others will participate.

#BeWoW – Every Little Thing

Inspiration for this week’s BeWoW post comes from how little things can mean the world and make a situation better. Some big awesome news can be life changers but in the day to day existence, enjoying the little things can make life so much better, even on days that aren’t so good.

So, I’m bringing you a little ‘pot pourri’ of this with quotes I found on Pinterest and the song I Believe by Joana Zimmer.

Give a little bit of love and you get it back,
Give a little bit of pain, you caught in a trap.
For every little thing that you say or do, give a little bit of love and it´ll come back to you.

– Joana Zimmer ‘I Believe’

#BeWow – You Are Worth It

Designed by Rose B. Fischer.

Designed by Rose B. Fischer.

This weeks’s #BeWow post was prompted by this beautiful art by my friend and partner in crime Rose B. Fischer. I have always loved her art and this piece is no exception!

Then the text and the art’s colors reminded me of an old Dark Angel video I made focusing on Max’s and Original Cindy’s friendship. I remember using color effects in it. The video isn’t online but the song I used, I’ll Stand by You by the Pretenders seems like the perfect accompanying tune for this inspiring art.

So if you’re mad, get mad
Don’t hold it all inside
Come on and talk to me now
Hey, what you got to hide?
I get angry too
Well I’m a lot like you
When you’re standing at the crossroads
And don’t know which path to choose
Let me come along
’cause even if you’re wrong
I’ll stand by you

– The Pretenders

You are worth it. Don’t forget this and have a beautiful Wednesday.

#BeWow – Be Kind To Yourself

Having compassion is often easier for others than to one’s self. We always feel that we need to do more, that we should be like this or that. I am all for becoming a better person, but in the past years I have realized that cutting myself some slack was part of the process. I also learned this when dealing with a bad case of burnout when overdoing it with my writing projects. Being kind to yourself helps you feel better and if you do feel better, you are more likely to be more positive and it has an impact on others too. Being responsible also means taking care of yourself, as you would do with others. It isn’t a lesson easy to learn but it is a very worthy one.

How can you be kind to yourself today? Being as such isn’t selfish, it is nurturing. And you are worth it!

#BeWow – Perseverance

OneRepublic’s song Marchin On is one of my favorite tunes about perseverance and how we must keep holding on even when times are rough. I like how the text also talks about “we”, not “I”. With family, friends and allies, we can go a long way, much farther than we may on our own!

Together we are stronger. We must not give up.

#BeWow – Love Lifted Me

For this week’s #BeWow, I decided to share a song that is always a mood lifter for me, and which has been since I was a child: Love Lifted Me by Kenny Rogers. I was introduced to it when a little girl, during the Muppet Show episode in which Kenny Rogers was guest. I watched a lot of the Muppet Show when I was a kid and still enjoy rewatches even as a grown up. I love the simplicity and sincerity of the lyrics.

Love lifted me, love lifted me When I was down and out You know love lifted me Love lifted me, love lifted me When nothing else would do You know love lifted me

Love can do a lot, no matter the circumstances. It doesn’t always bring miracles, but it can foster a good atmosphere and a safe environment. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Blog: What’s Coming Next

With several series and features coming to an end with March, I am happy to announce that I have new things in store for the blog.

Starting in April, the usual weekly rundown will be the following:

  • Monday Music
  • #BeWow (Be Wonderful on Wednesday)
  • Thursday Titles
  • Silent Sunday

The first (self explanatory) and third one (book recommendations) will be new. I decided to make my #BeWow contributions a weekly feature (and because of this might not post any new one until the first week of April) because of how important spreading positivity is. As for Silent Sunday, expect a shift from fannish creations to home made baked treats!

There will be other random posts, mostly about writing projects, as well as announcement of contributions I will be making on other blogs.

I am also extremely happy to announce a brand new monthly feature: SciFi Women Interviews. Every last Friday of the month, I will bring you an interview about a talented woman who writes/creates/likes/supports Science Fiction in one or more forms. I am honored to say that I already have six amazing women who agreed to participate to this project. The first one will be end of March. Stay tuned for further announcements!
