As mentioned in my previous post, Science Fiction, Transmedia & Fandom got a Versatile Blogger Award thanks to Diana Gordon at Part Time Monster! I am very happy and honored, especially coming from someone whose contributions have been very inspiring and thought provoking since I made her acquaintance!

The rules of accepting the award are:

  • Display the award on your blog
  • Announce your win with a post and thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Present 15 deserving bloggers with the award.
  • Link your nominees in the post and let them know of their nomination with a comment.
  • Post seven things about yourself.

The fifteen bloggers/team of bloggers I nominated below are in no particular order. Some I have been following for a while, others much more recently. If you happen to be on this list but don’t “do awards”, there is no problem. Consider this a nod of appreciation for interesting posts!

And now for the seven facts about myself:

  1. Star Wars post by post roleplaying is my usual writing warm up and helps me get rid of writing block for my paper and book writing.
  2. I always play a female character when given a choice in video games.
  3. I can’t live without (Earl Grey) tea or (dark) chocolate.
  4. Besides the one I am currently writing, I have two non fiction book projects already outlined, and another one with some basic ideas.
  5. I tend to speak in Genius, which includes a lot of squeeeeeing (a.k.a. being very mean to my E key), headdesking, eating helmets and handing cookies, extensive use of Palpy double sized frying pans.
  6. I have always been a vegetarian.
  7. My favorite comic book series is Yoko Tsuno by Roger Leloup.

    You are such a lovely person! I love your facts section! I wish I was as focused as you when it comes to your projects. I’d love to write fiction and non-fiction works, but my attention span moves onto something else really quickly. Thank you so much for the nomination! I still have to do the questions for the second Liebster Award!

      Thank you kindly! Glad that I could come up with facts I didn’t post for my first Liebster! I multitask a lot to be able to keep focus on projects, as ironic as it might sound! 🙂

    Natacha: Thank you, once again, for nominating me for another blogging award, the Versatile Blogger Award. You are very kind to think of me. It comes at a good time for me since I have sustained a lower back strain and haven’t been able to concentrate on writing this past week. Re your March 8 post for International Women’s Day, thank you for your well-written thoughts. I am part of the generation that faced discrimination in the workplace–younger than Gloria Steinem and Betty Freidan but entering the job market when they were campaigning for women’s rights. All of us who stood up for our competence and intelligence helped pave the way for equal rights in the job market. I see the strides that young women are making today, and I applaud their accomplishments. At the same time, and I think this is true of every movement in history, I have witnessed an over-reaction, that is, a tendency among women managers to discriminate against their young male workers. I hold the positive thought, however, that there will come a time when we are all living from our hearts so that women everywhere have equal rights and over-reaction is a thought from the past.       You are welcome for the award, Jennie. I hope that you are feeling better now. I completely agree that feminism also suffers from over reaction tendencies at times. Extremism, no matter which kind, is never a healthy option. I still think feminism is needed to obtain equal rights, but I don’t support male bashing as it is counter productive for everyone. Discrimination of any kind should become a thing from the past.

    Thanks so much for the nomination. Sorry we haven’t responded sooner it has just been crazy. Really appreciate being able to connect with a variety of people and discover some new blogs. Congratulations on your nomination as well, these awards are a great way to spread the word about other deserving blogs.
